Well, I’ve had to leave church early for different reasons over the years.  But today, I had to leave because my cranial prosthesis (AKA wig) was making me nauseous.  (It’s not fitting correctly and I think it’s too tight.)  Haha!!  That’s a first.

As the pastor was praying that our minds would not be distracted by situations in our lives (finances, health, work, etc.) I was sitting there thinking about my wig that was making me sick.  Seriously, sick.  Unfortunately I didn’t think ahead and put a hat in my purse and I’m just not ready to go out in public with my new bald look, so we left. 🙁 As soon as we got out of the building I ripped it off and felt so much better.  Seriously never thought that would be a distraction at church. Guess I will be listening to the sermon online this week . . .

Other than the attack of the cranial prosthesis earlier today and still being very tired, we are celebrating our oldest daughter’s 11th birthday today.  I woke up wondering if this will the last birthday I would celebrate with her, but quickly remembered my water breaking 11 years ago this morning and how our lives have never been the same since.

It’s been a great day looking at her baby book with her, seeing her open presents, play with makeup and hair stuff, dress up in fancy dresses with a friend, and just be a cute little (or big) 11 year old.  And the funniest part of the day so far has been listening to Tom help her figure out how to put fake eyelashes on her new makeup mannequin head.  Father of the year award goes to him for that!!

As we look ahead this week, I would appreciate prayer as I am struggling with wanting to go out in hats, wigs, scarves, etc.  It just feels different to me and I’m a little self conscious.  Please also pray I start to get my strength back.  This fatigue is horrible.  Yesterday it was too much to even sit up for long.  Today is better!  Also please pray for Tom’s foot as it’s hurting again.  Not sure what’s going on, but will be calling the Dr. tomorrow to get an appointment.  And if I can pray for you in a specific way, please send me an email. 🙂

Prayed this verse for our 11 year old and myself today – Phil. 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
