First of all, Happy Valentine’s Day. Tonight is a busy night for our family, so we celebrated on Sunday evening. The girls decorated the dining room and we enjoyed a wonderful steak dinner prepared by our favorite chef. 🙂
I’m feeling good most days. About once a week my body hurts a lot…not sure why. It’s that same pain from the inside out. Sometimes Tylenol helps. Sometimes it doesn’t. I can’t pinpoint it to anything I’m doing, but it’s annoying. I usually end up in bed early on those days. Other than that, I’m keeping up with our crazy busy life and am so thankful to be feeling great and healthy enough to keep up with the girls. It’s hard to believe it’s been almost a year since I finished chemo.
Yesterday, I had the privilege of supporting the oncology certified esthetician I’ve told you about before. She operates out of the Breast Center at Valley Medical Center and while she has many regular paying clients, she also donates some of her services to cancer patients. She was being interviewed by King5 News and asked a few of us to come be part of it.
It was such a fun morning chatting with 2 other cancer patients and I’m so happy I was able to support Christina’s work and help her get the word out to other patients and possible clients about her services.
Below is the segment that aired on the news last night.
It’s not a big deal…but I have to stay there much longer as we wait for the medicine to unclog it to be ordered and arrive. Then we have to defrost it, inject it in my port and wait at least an hour, praying it works. Then I can get the 15 minute infusion. If it clogs again, I’m going to message the Dr. and make sure it’s ok to start taking a baby aspirin again each day. It’s worth a try.
It’s also the girls’ mid-winter break, so will you please pray I don’t have any side effects from it? I remembered the Claritin last time and felt fine. I’m praying it’s the same this time.
In other news, I’ve decided to grow my hair out. So I’ll probably have to start wearing hats for a bit when it looks strange. 🙂
So much to be thankful for,
Jennifer 🙂
You look gorgeous in that green jacket! What a great selection to be filmed in. You look just like a model…as always xo
It’s one of the only things that’s not black in my closet! You are so sweet. 🙂
Thank you for sharing so much! You’re a Rock star! Praying for an awesome feel good winter break!
You looked beautiful, as always, inside and out. Love the jacket. Great color for you. Praying you’ll feel ok or maybe even great! Enjoy your week with the girls. Love you!!
What an inspiration…so glad you were able to be part of this!
I love your always positive attitude about everything! I’m so thankful you were able to help the aesthetitician and be honored by her too. You continue to inspire me. I pray for you daily. Bonnie
What an encouraging thing to be a part of. Praying for you and the family 🙂
Happy to find out things are going pretty good for you now. Prayers for you to keep your port open and to have no side effects. By the way you look fabulous. Keep smiling!
Thank you Jennifer for your blog and your FB posts. They always brighten my day and are such an encouragement. So happy to see you feeling so much better. Will be praying regarding Wednesday.
Yesterday I was going through some old journals and I found a very cute poem your Mom had written to me. What a sweet memory that was and made me smile. Sending lots of love your way.
