It has been pretty uneventful, health wise, since my last post.  I was feeling really good on Saturday morning, so we booked a hotel in Portland last minute and drove down for the weekend.  We had fun looking around at some Christmas decorations and enjoyed eating at one of Tom’s restaurants.  The girls’ behavior was GREAT, which made it a vacation for all of us!  Woohoo!

But now, it’s back to reality.  Well, kind of.

Today, we were blessed with 2 hours of free house cleaning from a local cleaning service thanks to Cleaning For a Reason.  (And Jenny just stopped by and as she was leaving, commented that she didn’t know how we keep our house so clean.  Lol – that’s how!!)  What a blessing these two ladies were who cleaned our home for 2 hours!  While I’m feeling pretty good, little things, like cleaning, are not always easy to do and I get tired SO easily!!  And this took that burden off Tom (and my friend Lauren who helped me yesterday while he was at work).  So thankful . . .

We met with the oncologist today.  Nothing new to report really.  He measured the tumor again and while it hasn’t shrunk in length, he feels that it’s softer and has shrunk a little in height (although he didn’t measure that dimension).

Tomorrow, I start my weekly chemo routine with a new medicine.  It’s just under half the dose I would have been receiving if I had done it every two weeks.  Hopefully I won’t get as sick, but he seemed pretty confident that I will have trouble with peripheral neuropathy.  (We are choosing to do the smaller dose in hopes of not causing permanent nerve damage.)

Specific things to pray for . . .

  • Restful night sleep and peace about chemo tomorrow
  • The girls have 2 choir concerts on Thursday and I would love to be able to go to them.
  • Winter break with the girls off school and Tom still needing to work – pray I will be feeling good enough to help around the house and with the girls.

So much to be thankful for . . .
