Since this whole wig process took less than an hour, went to lunch! :-). So happy Christy and I were able to make this a happy occasion and make it fun! Oh and I got a black soft hat too. 🙂
Then Tom and I headed up to Valley for my first pre-chemo blood draw. On Saturday at the open house, Catherine told me about a lidocaine cream I could put over the port so I wouldn’t feel that needle go in. So between that and the lidocaine shot they gave me, I didn’t feel a thing. Woohoo!! She pushed this large thumbtack looking thing in the port and then drew the blood. She did leave the needle and tube in and taped it up, since I am coming back in the morning.
The nurse, Kari, also talked about the chemo meds I’ll be getting for the first round (Adriamycin and Cytoxan) and then talked about what to expect for tomorrow. She emphasized that no one really knows how they will feel after the chemo or what side effects they will get as everyone is different. So again, one day at a time. 🙂
Please pray that we will be able to sleep well tonight and again for as little nausea as possible! Thanks friends!
praying for you Jennifer. We love you and are praying for you.
Thanks Aunt Carol. 🙂 Love you!
Praying for you! Love you!
Thanks cousin!
Will be praying for you tomorrow. Stand strong in the Lord.
🙂
The one you picked is cute…but I think you looked hot as what’s her name on Mythbusters! 🙂
Haha! Thanks!
Hope you are sleeping well . . . prayers through the night and tomorrow.
BTW – LOVED the wig you selected!
Will be thinking about you tomorrow –
Thanks. Still one kid to put to bed. (I miss the 7 pm bed times when they were little.) 🙂
LOVE, LOVE the wig you picked!! That hairstyle looks really great on you! Glad you and Christie could have a fun date. Love you and praying you sleep well tonight and for comfort tomorrow.
Thank you friend. But now wondering if I have been spelling Christie’s name wrong all the time, or just recently . . . hmmm. You know I look to you for all things English, spelling and grammar related.
So glad you had such a nice day. Your wig choice looks great. Praying for all your requests and will keep you in my thoughts tomorrow as you go through your first treatment. Keep smiling!
Thank you. I will try.
Dearest Jennifer,
I love the new wig! Very fitting as it looks pretty close to your hair
Praying for peace, calmness and rest tonight! Will be sending extra special prayers up in the morning.
Love and hugs my friend
Thanks. We thought so too. One more kid to put to bed . . .
Love the new “do” 🙂 Praying for a blessed time tomorrow ♥
What a brave lady! The love which surrounds you radiates from your smile!!
Bought a pink t-shirt because of you!!
Much love through prayers!
So cute. Send me a picture!
Love the wig you picked! The verse in Deut. 33: 27 has been a comfort for me for all medical procedures when I’m lying on the table I think of where it says “The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath [you]are the everlasting arms…” praying for you for tonight and tomorrow! Hugs
Thank you! I love that verse!
Those wigs are adorable! I like the one you chose. And that light blonde one totally reminded me of your mom’s hair 🙂 I am praying for rest for you tonight and will be covering you in prayer tomorrow! You got this!! (Well, God’s got this too!)
Yep. . . Better Him in control instead of me! The wig acutely males me think of Sue’s hair. 🙂
I love the wig you picked out. Praying that your body responds well today and that the nausea is not bad. Love you
Thanks. Waiting for the pre meds to finish so we can start the chemo.
We are praying for all of you. Donna thinks your wig is cute.
Trusting In Christ Alone
Thanks. Hugs to you both!
Hope everything went well today. I have been praying for you. I love your new wig and you look beautiful in it:)
It did go well! Thanks! 🙂
Jennifer,
I have prayed for you at different times today, knowing how difficult this must be for you. I must say, I LOVE the wig! They have certainly come a long way in making them look natural. Special prayer for Tom too as he “holds down the fort” so to speak. May God be ever near to both of you and grow your faith through the process. Prov. 3:5-6
Thanks Debbie. It surprised me how real it looked when I put it on too! Thanks for praying!
Jennifer, was praying for you all day that everything would go well. So glad you had a friend to go with you and make you smile on such a tough day.
You wig looks great. Very cute.
Praying your body will accept the chemo with out to many side effects.
God is so good!
Love you.
Me too. We really had fun! Good is good all the time!
