Today would have been my Mom’s 69th birthday. I miss her so much! I’m doing fine today, just thought I’d mention it. 🙂 Happy Birthday in Heaven Mom! (Here’s a post I wrote a few years ago if you are interested.)
The real reason I’m writing today is to ask you to pray for me as I await my appointment on Friday. I have a check-up with the oncologist at 11 am.
3 weeks ago I started having sciatica pain. I tried to manage it with stretching and exercises but ended up at the Dr. as it wasn’t getting any better. She prescribed steroids and muscle relaxers which helped. However, as the steroids are tapering off and now ending, the pain is coming back, even though I continue to do all the strengthening and stretching exercises. 🙁
I have dealt with lower back pain off and on for a long time, but it has always resolved itself over time by doing what I’m doing. Unfortunately, my mind goes straight to thinking the cancer has spread to a vertebrae or there is a tumor down there somewhere. I know that’s it is most likely just sciatica pain like non-cancer patients deal with, but I’m struggling with worry.
Will you please pray with me that as these unnecessary worries enter my mind, I will send them out right away and replace them with Truth? Please also pray for peace for me as I await the appointment on Friday and for wisdom for Dr. Leung as we talk about it.

I pray that you will be ok after your Friday Doctor appointment. Just knowing it is not cancer. My mother has been gone for 12 years also. But she was 92 years old when she passed. Donna said this passed week-end she needs to go through her cookie recipes and make sure she under stands them before I pass. OK, we will make a date for that. She said she cut your hair again. Hope you soon can let it grow long again, like you like it.

(Just fyi, I used a TENS unit for several years for back pain…just Google it…it really worked for me – it “interrupts” the pain signals from reaching the brain. Unfortunately,it doesn’t help the pain in your heart, but it might give you one less issue to deal with right now

Jennifer, I was praying for you yesterday as I remembered Jan’s birthday. She was a Proverbs 31 wife and mother. I remember all the great times we had with Jan and your Dad and you and the trip we took to Oregon; I still laugh about that trip…neither of us are good with directions and got lost many times, even trying to find Uncle Chuck and Aunt Patti’s house. We had fun laughing about it for years. I love you and continue to pray for you. Let me know what the doctor says about your back. Love, Aunt Carol
