The girls got off to school and zero hour pretty well this morning. I’m thankful for that. I never know how mornings are going to go…

My infusion was uneventful. I got to catch up with Toni, my nurse, this morning, which is always fun. I did find out the Dr. ordered a couple extra cancer tumor marker blood tests, so I’m curious how those will come back. In the past, even with all the large tumors in my breast, the number was low and hardly changed any.

Apt. #1 – Zometa infusion to strengthen my bones

Radiation simulation went well. I knew one of the technicians from 3 years ago, so it was fun to catch up with him for a few minutes. I have 4 new tattoos. I asked for butterflies. He gave me dots. I don’t remember them being painful, but OH MY GOSH, they stung so bad. I guess it’s a good thing I didn’t remember. 🙁 At least that’s the only part of radiation that should be uncomfortable…well that and having to lay on a hard table with my arms over my head.

Apt. #2 – Radiation simulation – you know how much I love hospital gowns

Tom and I hung out in the hospital lobby between the radiation apt. and the bone biopsy. He was able to get some work done and I fooled around on my computer for a bit.

Another date at the Dr. 🙂

We walked down to my biopsy appointment and Tom left for a Dr. appointment that he had today. Crystal (who everyone thinks is my sister) came and kept me company for a bit until my procedure.

Always fun hanging out at the special procedures unit 🙂

The biopsy ended up being not a big deal at all. I laid down on my stomach, felt relaxed by the fentanyl they gave me and was alert enough to ask if he was screwing the needle into my bone….yep he was…it was thredded. So glad I couldn’t feel it much! 🙂 It was uncomfortable a few times, but not bad. I had to stay for an hour after the procedure and then Tom and I headed home.

I’ve been a little nauseous since the procedure and totally exhausted. We’ve been laying down watching movies. My back is achy a little and my chest is hurting quite a bit like it always does when I lay down.

All in all, not a bad day. Just tired now and resting. Thanks for praying with us. We should get the biopsy results back mid next week and will finalize the treatment plan then. I should hear back on the exact plan for radiation sometime next week as well and then I’ll start that.
