This week the girls are on mid-winter break, so I booked a new vacation rental in our same town for a few nights. It’s called The Abode at Cedar River.

This is the view when you walk in the front door!

The house we stayed at was just recently redone and is absolutely gorgeous inside! However most of the time we spent looking outside because it was right on the Cedar River and had such amazing views. It’s a log house with a green roof and is the perfect house for this area.

I have total house envy. It’s a rambler and just a few hundred square feet bigger than our current house. I wonder if they would mind if I just moved a few things over there and stayed……forever?

I took this picture while laying in bed. It was lovely to wake up to this view each morning!

I’m glad we could get away and it’s also nice to know of a close by rental for when family comes up and visits occasionally. ❤

Ashley and Tom played darts a few times…a first for Ashley. That was fun.

We didn’t really do anything different than we would have at home, but I really needed something to look forward to and I’m glad we got away.

This enormous mirror in the master bedroom was loved by all the girls. There’s just something about a large mirror with a big space in front of it that attracts my children to it. One of the girls even danced in front of it using my cane as a prop. I haven’t seen her do something like that in a while. ❤

So that’s what we’ve been up to the past few days. It’s nice to have something different to write about. I’ll write another blog post on how I’m feeling and how the medication is working. But for now, enjoy the view!

UPDATE: This is our first time coming home to a dog. Everyone was so excited to see him and he was very happy to see us as well. It was so cute to see our family reunited. Thanks Annika for taking such good care of him while we were gone!
