I am getting a nice collection of “The Night Before…” posts.
Tomorrow is my first of 34 radiation treatments. I just printed a calendar for the week with what’s going on and I hate seeing treatment and Dr. appointments on 5 of the 7 days. 🙁 But ready or not, it all starts tomorrow.
I’m not nervous about it, but I can’t say I’m looking forward to it. Tom is working from home tomorrow, just so he can drive there and back with me. I’m thankful for him taking the time to do that. 🙂
My back is starting to feel better thanks to my Physical Therapy. I’m very thankful to be able to do some things around the house without huge amounts of pain!
More tomorrow after treatment…
Jennifer, I had another friend who had to go through radiation too, and what helped her with the dailiness of it was just saying, “This is my job! I consider it my job just like as if I was going to work every day. So I go to my job, and then I come home and get on with the rest of my day.” I thought that was a pretty good attitude, and a great way to get through it. Maybe this will help you, especially as you are here at the beginning of the routine. We love you and will continue to pray you through it.
That was Tom’s suggestion too! So I go to work at 10:30!
Sweet Jennifer, I admire your faith and your bravery. Sorry I haven’t replied in a while, my life has been hectic, but you’re in my thoughts and prayers. You’re about to begin another new journey. I trust the Lord will be by your side, during each procedure, speaking to your heart. Listen closely while He tells you of His love for you and how He can never love you more than He loves you at this moment. I, personally, try to remember to do “all things” to His Glory. To give Him the best of me in all situations. Let His peace fill you to the brim knowing His Words are true. He cannot lie.
To a question you asked a while back … No, we do not have a mutual friend. I think it’s a “God thing” that I stumbled on your blog. I read your story. It touched my heart and I was hooked. I pray my words my give you encouragement when you most need it. When you’re tired and down, rest in Him as He helps you defeat the enemy. Prayers can work miracles! You never know who might be praying for you. My love and blessings …
I am so thankful for your encouragement this morning Nancy. I’ve been reading scriptures of encouragement this morning and I didn’t sleep well, thinking about this morning. Not worrying about it, but just so sad I have to go. 🙂
Here’s to a great week ahead.
Praying always!
Thank you Tammy. 🙂 I always appreciate you taking the time to comment, even if I don’t reply. 🙂
Radiation is nothing like chemo, praise the Lord! For me it was a routine and I planned fun things, like going to Trader Joes and splurging on a little box of raspberries that I ate one by one as I drove home. Of course I had to get permission to drive again, but that didn’t take long and was another Celebration Day! I pray you will have many of those in your future, Jennifer.
Thanks Janet. This morning went well. 33 more to go!
Praying that all go well and for his strength as you go to ” your job” today! How is Tom’s eye? I hope it’s cleared up!
Love and prayers!
Thank you Lisa. Tom’s eye is doing much better. Thanks for asking!
Valley Med’s Radiation Techs are fantastic and I actually miss them. Praying you will relax and breathe well. 😉 Fortunately, it’s a short appointment!
They are wonderful!! I was back in the changing room in less than 15 minutes. Too bad I have to drive 30 minutes each way. 🙁 It could be worse though. Glad I don’t have to drive up to Seattle each day!
Prayers as always
Hi Friend!!
Thinking of you often and praying for you always..
