The pharmacy got their shipment of my pain medicine in today, so I just put on my new pain medicine patch. It stays on for 3 days, and I take my current pain medicine for part of the next 24 hours while my body gets used to the new one and absorbs it.
Is pretty unnerving to read about the medication. I had to take a couple minutes and just breathe before I put it on. I’m not sure why. I know it can be very dangerous for people that are not used to taking opioids. I know I take really strong medicine for my pain, but for some reason this is making me think about it differently.
Will you please pray that I will sleep well and that the fentanyl will work for my pain if it’s the Lord’s will. If not, please pray for wisdom as we talk to the doctor and figure something else out.

Jennifer – Fentanyl can be a very effective pain med… And honestly, I think the patch is one of the best ways to receive it… It is effective for most people and it seeps into your system slowly, so there is little possibility of overdose. I have had multiple patients who used it successfully and with no problems. I will be praying the same for you!!
