Well, so far so good on the new medicine. I’ve taken two half doses and two full doses. The biggest side effect I have so far is that I have a very dry mouth and I am incredibly thirsty all the time…which leads to me drinking a lot…which leads to me going to the bathroom a lot…you get picture. So we’ll be keeping an eye on that for a few days to make sure I’m not having high blood sugar issues, which is a very common side effect of this medication.

My radiation appointment yesterday went well. I’m now the proud owner of a new mask, which looks like something from a Halloween horror movie. It was a little strange as they molded it to my face, and pretty fascinating at the same time. It started off totally flat, and then they warmed it up, and started to mold it around my face eventually snapping it to the table. Then they put cool washcloths over it to help it harden faster. Next they put some sharpie marks on the mask so they could line me up easily in the machine and I was done. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. I have my simulation early Tuesday morning, which is like a practice run. Then starting Wednesday it will be every day for 10 weekdays.

Have a good weekend everyone.
