“Christy, can you get me to Valley in about 45 minutes?”
“Sure. When do you want me at your house?”
“In about 10 minutes.” (She lives about 7 minutes away.)
That conversation happened at 3:10 this afternoon because of a stat ultrasound Dr. Leung ordered to check on a possible blog clot in my leg. I had 50 minutes to get up to the appointment and Tom and Sage were on their way out the door for another appointment.
I’m glad we went, even though it was a little chaotic getting there.
Yesterday, I noticed my left ankle was swollen and I felt a large vein in my upper left calf. I messaged the Dr. this morning about that and about my breathing, which is getting more difficult already.
As soon as I laid down on the table, the technician noticed that my left leg was swollen. Great!
After having the ultra sound, it turns out I have 3 blood clots. The larger one on the back of my calf is in a superficial vein and not something to worry much about as it’s not connected to an artery. The other two, one on the bottom of my foot and the other in the swollen part of my left ankle, are a little more of a concern as they are in a deep vein and are connected to an artery. Fortunately, I’m very tall and they are down at the bottom of my body, so the Dr. isn’t very concerned about them. We are treating them with blood thinning medicine for now.
It was an eventful afternoon, but I’m thankful to be home and not in the ER. Just another thing to add to my list of issues…..
It wasn’t all bad this afternoon. I got to spend time with a friend and the fall leaves are beautiful right now! PLUS it could have been worse. I could be typing this from a bed in the ER. Thank you Lord that I am home!
Oh my goodness! So scary.
I love you and I am praying, friend.
Oh, what a scare! It’s nice to hear about the “good” outcome. You are continually in my prayers
Thankful you have been taken care of and are back at home.
Ohhhh, that was very serious and scary!!! So happy for you to be home and sleeping in your own bed!! Also, God had your friend available to drive you at a moment’s notice.
Oh Jennifer. I’m glad you are home. I’ll be praying for you. How frightening!
I guess that shows how many of us are praying for you. Glad you are home.
Thank you Jesus for alerting jennifer to an issue and thank you for her great friend. God places these angels to help others. Thank you Christy.

Praising the Lord that you got in so quickly and someone could take you and that you didn’t have to stay! Mostly, praising the Lord that He’s keeping you, at each step, and that you are grateful for the things He brings along your journey….grace to sustain you, strength to carry you, friends to help you….all of Him and His Wonderful mercy! He is faithful and may His faithfulness be evident to you and others as you walk through this long, winding, road. May your fellowship, in sharing His sufferings, be sweet beyond measure!! praying for you all.
Dear Jennifer, shall be praying for you. I have a friend who had blood clots in her leg from a very long plane flight. This was about 25 years ago. Was put on blood thinner. She is Still taking blood thinner but has not had any clots since. So that is your story, too!! Love,
