Happy Valentine’s Day from our family to yours.
I woke up feeling horrible and not being able to speak a word, but am happy to report that my throat seems to be getting a little better as the day goes on. No visit to Urgent Care for me! Woohoo! Going to the girls play last night was hard – sitting next my aunt and uncle and not being able to talk and catch up, not being able to talk to other parents . .. ugh! No fun!!) I’m trying not to talk much and let Tom take care of things with the girls.
Part of this keeping my mouth shut and letting him take care of things with the girls has somehow resulted in him working out a deal with them that if they clean the entire house (vacuum, dust, bathrooms, laundry away, dishwasher unloaded and loaded, things picked up, etc.) before he got home at 2:30, he will give them each $10. And of course, he added the stipulation that there could be no fighting and that it had to be a pleasant experience for me. So, I have 3 very busy kids right now as I’m relaxing on the bed writing this. Tom and I don’t get gifts for each other for Valentine’s Day, but this is $30 well spent on his part (if they can pull it off, which I think they will)!
It is still strange to me to have Tom around this weekend (or any weekend) as today and the days surrounding it are usually the busiest nights of the year for a chef. Last year, for the first time since we had kids, we were together as a family. It was strange . . . didn’t feel like Valentine’s Day. Tonight, our oldest has a party to go to at church and the two younger ones, Tom and I are going to enjoy a nice dinner and do something together (which doesn’t require much talking from me). I have no idea what we’ll end up doing, but as long as it’s peaceful, I don’t care!
Now I think I’ll work on my Bible Study while the girls continue to work.
UPDATE 5 pm – MY VOICE IS BACK! WOOHOO! Praise the Lord! It’s not perfect or very strong, but I am no longer whispering and I am feeling much better!
So much to be thankful for . . .

Dear Jennifer,
This verse comes to mind when I read about your days.
Matthew 6:34 “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
And then…
Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!
May this day you be filled with His presence & share Him everywhere.
Kindly,
Marilee
