Hooray!! After my visit with Dr. Leung, my oncologist this morning, I don’t have to go back for 3 more months!
My cancer antigen test came back in the normal range. But when I compared the numbers, it is exactly the same now as it was in September 2015 when I was diagnosed. Hmmmmmm. Apparently the test is not specific enough to spot small cancer growths, which is why they do not use the test on early stage breast cancer patients. He said it does well at picking up cancer growth when it is in multiple places and growing. Since mine has already spread once, he said it’s the least invasive test they can do to help monitor it. However, if the test did show a big jump in numbers, I would probably be experiencing some symptoms. So with all that to say…I won’t be losing any sleep over that test any more. Hopefully I explained that clearly…at least as clear as mud, right??
I also met with the plastic surgeon today. Everything is healing fine. I am supposed to go back and see him next month and we will talk about doing a little bit more to finish up my foob. I’m not in a rush, so we’ll see about that appointment. 🙂 It’s nice not having to drive to the Dr. all the time!!
My infusion on Wednesday took an eternity because my port was clogged AGAIN!!!! HELLO!!! IT’S SO ANNOYING!!!! But once all that was resolved, the infusion took 15 minutes and I didn’t have any side effects this time. Praise God!
My next scan will be in October. 🙂
So for now, we just keep going, one day at a time, thankful for each day and all that God allows in each day!
Thanks for praying with us!
That’s happy news. I hear you about not wanting to be at the doctor’s all the time. 🙂 I’m excited that I have no appointments between now and Monday afternoon. Funny how our perspectives can change.
Yes! Last year I was there so often! Glad you have a break til Monday!
Jeniffer, I pray you can enjoy each day as it comes. Love and adore your darling little girls and husband. With Love, Carol Moser
This is wonderful news, Jennifer. Each day truly is a gift. I am glad you can stay away from the medical community for a little while. Continued prayers and love for you and your beautiful family
The Lord has done great and mighty things in and through you! May His face continually shine upon you and bring your great peace.
So happy for you to have made it over the hill. Praising God for his mercies and may we all be reminded how precious each and every day is 🙂
Jennifer, That is such great news. I am so happy for you and your family. I enjoyed seeing all the pictures of your vacation in CA. So glad you could do this as a family. Glad that you got to see your dad. I sure wish we all lived closer . He is such fun to be with and has such a great sense of humor. Him and Noel (Chris) Fort would have a really good time together. They are very much alike in their humor. His wife is doing well too after her heart surgery. She is home now. Take care and we love you all so much!
