Ever since I drained the fluid from around my lung two days ago, things haven’t felt quite the same. Today I was having trouble sitting and talking without getting out of breath. The doctor did an x-ray while I was at chemo and everything looked normal (well normal for me).

The X-ray showed a partially collapsed lung with some fluid. He gave me a couple options. He said I could go to the ER and have some more tests done, or I could monitor my breathing at home and let him know in a day or two if it was the same or has gotten any better.

I chose to go home and rest. My breathing seems to be a little bit better this evening. Hopefully it will stay that way and hopefully I made the right decision to come home. Even though we just drained the fluid from my lung two days ago, we did it again tonight and I got another 250 ml. Hopefully that explains the problems breathing earlier today. But only time will tell…

My bowels are still moving pretty well and my pain is under control. On Wednesday I’m going to talk to the palliative care doctor about the quantity of breakthrough pain medicine I have to take during the day still. I still think it’s a little on the high side and that we might need to go up a little higher on the pain patches.

I got a call from home health today. Because I am so weak, I’m going to work with a physical therapist from home health to try to regain a little bit of strength so I can walk easier and not need to rely on my cane for balance.

In other news, Tom and I started the conversation about having someone come in to clean our house again. I know it would be so helpful, but with Covid it still makes us nervous. Also, we have March meals set up on our meal plan. If you are local and are able to help us with that, we would really appreciate it. https://takethemameal.com/meals.php?t=QDGP7397

That’s it for now. Happy Monday and have a great week.
