I’ve definitely turned a corner! I’ve had more energy the past couple days and I think I might be settling into my new normal. I’m still dealing with a few side effects, but I am thankful that the depression is gone and that some of my energy is back. I was able to do some Black Friday shopping with the girls on Friday and we went on a family date to see Frozen 2 yesterday. I stood the entire time of worship during church this morning as well. Still no where close to what I was doing a few months ago, but progress!!

Decorating for Christmas was a bit different this year…starting off with all 3 girls at the bottom of the ladder helping Tom get the decorations out of the attic. 🙂 It took a little longer, but they did great. The girls helped lift crates and take them back out to the garage when we were done with them and our home is now decorated….kind of. We are having our floors redone in 2 weeks, so we went light on the decor, knowing that in two weeks it will all be coming down for that project.

This week, Tom and I head up to Valley on Tuesday for a few appointments. I have my Faslodex shot (hormone blocker) and Zometa infusion (bone strengthening) at the infusion center. Then we head over to meet with the oncologist for a follow up about side effects and back pain and end with a meeting with the care nurse to talk about managing life with a terminal illness. I have put if off in the past, but I think it’s time to talk to someone who walks this route with others often. Hopefully it will be helpful.

I’m trying to slowly do more, as I am able. My back still prevents me from doing much cleaning, but I can do a little if it doesn’t require bending over much. I usually ending working on a small project for a short time and then have to take a break. It’s frustrating, but I guess it’s better than being stuck in bed, so I won’t complain. 🙂

Last weekend, I was able to get out of the house enough to have some family photos taken with Santa and a few non-Christmas ones in the woods. I updated the main photo on the front page of the blog if you want to see one. 🙂
