The beginning of a new year…a fresh start…I always love the start of a new year.  I love looking back on the past year and looking ahead to what is coming (most years at least).

I am about 5 or 6 weeks post surgery and the scars have healed very nicely.  I am looking forward to getting “released” from the plastic surgeon soon so I can get back to regular exercising!

It’s been 6 weeks since I started Aromasin again, (the hormone blocking pill) and it’s been about 7 weeks that I’ve been on a very high dose of vitamin D.  I am VERY HAPPY to report that I have no bone pain or other side effects!  There are days that I’m pretty uncomfortable at the end of the day, but I can pinpoint it to being very active and not being able to exercise much because of post surgery limitations.  In the past, the pain would come out of nowhere!  I am so thankful we seem to have found the problem!!  Praise God!!  I look forward to following up with my oncologist in February and not reporting any problems!!

There are still times where worry pops in my head.  I wonder why my treatment worked so well, while other people’s didn’t.  I have seen people diagnosed with cancer after me who have passed away, which brings a wave of emotions, but also thankfulness to God for another day with my family.  I have been blessed to talk with a few people who have joined the horrible “cancer club” and am thankful for the chance to do so, as others did for me when I was first diagnosed.

Until next time…
