Quick update tonight…
Hooray! Radiation is over. It has definitely helped the pain in my sternum, as I can now lay down for a while and not be in severe pain. However, it looks like I have traded that pain for pain in my esophagus. It now is very painful to eat or during anything, even water. I spoke with the radiation oncologist and he prescribed a compound medicine which they mixed for me today that I can take before I eat to help numb my esophagus and make it so it is not quite as painful. Hopefully the pain will last less than a week.
My shot was not too painful and I’m glad the first one is over. Now, I am praying for minimal side effects.
Thursday is the day I plan to start the chemo pills.
Yesterday and today, Christy and Linda went with me to radiation and lunch and it was nice to have company. 🙂
It’s 5:24 and feels like 9:24….oh the silly time change and being tired. I’ll try and stay awake for a bit. 🙂
Jennifer-
During choir on Sunday, I saw you and Tom and all of those songs just took on a deeper level of meaning. I appreciate these updates in order to more specifically direct my prayer time for my favorite Small people :). Much love!
Continuing to lift you up in our prayers. Thank you for the frequent updates which help us pray specifically for your treatments, pain, schedule and family. Think of you often and pray for you daily. All our love to you and the family from this side of the globe – Laura
So much love and prayers going your way. I’m so sorry you’re trading one pain for another. Hard to imagine. My Book Club is reading Charles Spurgeon The Power of Prayer in the Life of a Believer. One of his sermons quoted “God’s people have always found out the best of their God when in the worst of conditions. God is good at all times, but He seems to be at His best when we are at our worst.” I hope this can make you feel a little better. My heart is full for you and your family. Love forever, Nancy
Thank you for giving us specific things to pray about. I am also thanking the Lord for yor friends and church family that are there to support you in tangible ways. Sending love from PA
Such a warrior are you! I know it is even His strength which enables you to write such an account of this fiery trial. My prayers are for you to flourish as He leads you through to the other side. I know His grace will ever be with you and help you along the way. May Tom and your girls be strengthened also and be of great comfort to your soul.
