Well, 13 rounds of chemo done and 3 more to go!!
The end is in sight and I’m so glad! Today went well. We were out of the infusion center by 11:45 and I was able to rest the rest of the day. The girls are in a play on Saturday at school and have practice after school all week, so I get a little extra time to rest in a quiet home,. (And we’ll have some pretty tired kids by the end of the week!)
The neuropathy is my hands has been better since Sunday. I no longer wake up with pain in my finger tips and have been able to use my hands a little more without pain. The medicine I’m taking to help with that is making me more tired, but I’d rather be tired than have my hands hurting all the time.
Other than that, we are just taking one day at a time. Next week, Tom is out of town for work and I’m looking forward to seeing my friend Sarah from college, who is flying up for a bit!! The girls are also off school, so it will be nice to see them and a lot more work for this tired mom. We’ll see how the week goes . . .
Hey! You sound pretty good and I am so thankful. Glad your chemo day went smoothly and very happy to hear that the meds for your hands is working. I will see you Friday at 11:30 am unless you call me and need to cancel. Hop Jacks here we come!!!
Happy to hear the neuropathy is improved!
Glad to hear that the Neuropathy is better. Will be thinking and praying for you especially next week while Tom is away and the girls are home. Hope you are able to enjoy the time with Sarah too. Love and hugs to all of you!
I am so glad to hear that your hands and fingers are feeling better. Thank you Jesus! I hope your depression has lifted and you are feeling hopeful. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for you going through these chemo treatments and all that that involves. I’ve never had to go through anything like that before but I have gone through difficult and painful times where I felt helpless and scared. That’s because I was focusing on my circumstances and not on God. I know, it is easier said than done. However, through the years God has shown me that He keeps His promises. Now, when trials come upon me I try not to react to them. Instead, I remember who God is and start thanking Him for all the blessings in my life. Kind of like when Peter was walking on the water. As long as he kept his eyes on Jesus he was fine. It’s when we take our eyes off Jesus and focus on our circumstances that we start to sink. It has taken many trials and heartaches for me to change my perspective. I still struggle at times and God knows that and I am grateful for His patience. We will continue to remember you and your family in our prayers. Thank you for opening up and sharing the struggles you face on a daily basis. You are brave, courageous, and an inspiration to us all. Blessings & Love, Jan Vassil
