Yep. My hair is growing and it’s going to be time for a hair cut sometime soon. How exciting! Hair loss is possible on this chemo, but so far, it’s growing. We’ll see what the next cycle brings. ๐
I’ve noticed this new chemo is effecting my skin. It’s very dry. I have ton’s of dandruff and every time I take off clothes, I see skin flying in the air. Yuck!!!! Yuck!!!!!!! Yuck!!!!!!! My skin is so dry. So I’m starting to put on lotion every day and I’m sure that will help. I probably should shower more often as well, it’s just a pain to put on a shower shield every time to cover up the catheter we use to drain my lung.
Yesterday, I felt great. I had quite a bit of energy and did more than I usually do. Today I slept in ’til almost 12 and even then had a hard time waking up. It’s 3pm now and I’m more awake, thank goodness. We drained my lung again this morning and I can breath better. It’s a very different day than yesterday.
We’ve have beautiful weather up here for the past couple weeks. We’ve been able to get out on walks and see the beautiful flowers in our neighborhood. I love going for walks with Tom. Yesterday we went on 2!
It’s been so nice having Mom up here. We’ve gone to bed (she’s sleeping in Tom’s bed) around 8 each night and watched movies together. We’ve rested together and had time to talk. I have loved that. She has also been busy doing laundry and cooking all our meals for us and when she goes home, she will be leaving a bunch of meals for us as well. She is spoiling us! We enjoyed having tea with her on Mother’s Day in person! We haven’t been able to celebrate Mother’s Day in person with her on that actual day, for many years!
Not much is going on the rest of the week. I’m hoping to see a few friends and enjoy the sun if I can. Next week will be busy. I have chemo on Monday, with a Covid test before it (for surgery). Then I have surgery for my pain pump on Tuesday. The Dr. said I will have to come see him quite often at first as they program the pump to the correct level of medicine. I might need some rides up to Valley if it’s really often so Tom doesn’t miss too much work. I’ll reach out for help if needed. ๐
A friend got me the book You Can Trust God to Write Your Story (*affiliate link) by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth. I’ve read a few of her books before and I’m looking forward to reading it. I hope my brain can handle it….I have a foggy brain from all the pain meds.
As always, thanks for praying for our family. If there is anything I can pray for you, please let me know.
Iam so happy to hear you are enjoying having Susan there with the family . She is a great lady . The picture are absolutely knot down beautiful. Praying your surgery goes well . As I have said for a long time, you are one remarkable young lady . God Bless you and the family
She is a great lady. I am so blessed to have her as a mother-in-law.
Jen, speaking of dry skin, Gene and I got you some special creams that are supposed to help with chemo skin, from a lady we know who does Mary Kay. Could you message me your address so I can send them to you?
Pictures looks like you had a wonderful day and the news was uplifting love and prayers as always to all of you
Thanks Else!
I emailed my address to you. Thank you for thinking of that and sending it Nicole.
Hi Jenn….having the sun out does make everything nicer and easier. So glad to hear about those walks you and Tom had. Your Mother’s Day pictures were wonderfull! You 4 ladies are beautiful!! Having your mom with you, for so many reasons, is such a blessing! So happy for you and your family. I am sure your mom is loving her visit. Special girl time!! Praying for chemo, for your lungs, for your surgery and that your family continues to draw close and enjoy each other. GOD’S GOTTCHA!! Love to you all!
It really is so nice to get outside and appreciate all that spring has to offer. The pictures of mothers day look wonderful and I am glad you are having a wonderful visit with Tom’s mom. I can tell she has been a great blessing to all of you. I am praying about the upcoming surgery. Would you pray for wisdom for me. I have a small benign Brain tumor that we discovered 5 years ago. It is growing and the position of it, resting on my optic nerves, means we have been watching my vision closely. I am asking the Lord to guide us as to when it needs to be removed. Thanks Jennifer, sending you hugs from PA.
Wendy, yes I will be praying for that! Please keep me posted.
That is a table of deliciousness!! What a great day together. I’m so glad your mom is visiting.
I will be praying for your surgery and for your peace of mind. Enjoy your book and all of your mom’s home cooking. ๐
Could you please pray for the next few weeks at school? We are headed to the end of the year and our district has decided that all students K-5 must take a math and language arts test online in a few weeks. There are some heavy emotions coming as we close the school year and testing is an added stress. I appreciate having your prayers, Jennifer. I know you understand.
Much love!
That’s a lot to put on the teachers and kids at the end of this crazy poet year. I will be praying for that. Thanks Shanna.
Thank you for sharing the pictures and especially the things you see on your walk. Glad good things are happening at your house. I continue to pray for you. I have a prayer request. My daughter in law has a special need for prayer. I took her to the eye doctor today and she has a cataract in one eye and is almost blind. We are starting the process of getting surgery. Thank you for praying and remember I am praying for you.
I will be praying for that Bob!
Thank you!
I rejoice with you at the Goodness of our God to provide such love, joy, family, and renewed energy this week! I loved seeing the beautiful pictures you shared. I pray for you and your family often and hope you have many more days of sunshine in the coming weeks to help lift your spirit. I will be praying for your coming surgery. Love, from Texas
Thanks Sandi!
I don’t often comment, but I always read everyone’s thoughtful and supportive words. Thank you all!
It was really great to have my mom up to visit. Even though it was just ‘normal life’ it was very special and meaningful to spend some time with her.
I love that you commented on my blog.
Dear Jennifer, Though we are farther away we continue to pray for you and your family daily! What a blessing to have Tomโs mom there to pour lots of love on you all and you know itโs blessing her! We love you! Chuck and Bobbie
So glad you are having the pain pump. Make sure you allow them to use as much pain medication in pump as needed for pain. I didn’t at first but let then adjust it to your personal needs, you will feel so much better. After all my pain adjustments, I am doing great. I love you Jennifer, an praying for surgery on Tuesday. Just let me know what you want to eat for Wednesday dinner. Love aunt carol
