My appointment with the Orthopedic Dr. went well today. We are going to do an MRI of both the upper and lower spine to determine the best treatment. He’s thinking it will be a Vertebroplasty which is basically like putting cement in the middle of the bone that is fractured.
He didn’t see any new visible fractures on the X-Ray he did today. He said an MRI will confirm that and show us exactly which vertebrae(s) would benefit from the procedure.
So for now I continue on with the pain meds and wait for insurance to approve the MRI. I am still in pain, but the pain meds are keeping it under control……..I’m just a little out of it. 🙂
Wow, that sounds great. I continue to pray.
Sounds like you may get some relief and will be able to lighten up on pain pills. Praise be to God! Continuing to pray!
Seems like your pain might be a tiny bit better. Hopefully with your meds you can get some much needed sleep. With the injury on your spine, does the surgery require you to stay a few days in the hospital? Hope I get and praying the recovery will not take to long. Prayers for you , Tom and the girls .
Praying for everything to go well so you get some healing, rest & strength. Anyone who’s ever had severe back pain knows how debilitating it can be & it can take many months to heal. But God is our strength & help in our time of need. We’ll be praying for you, Tom & the girls. You’re doing what you’re able to & they love & respect you. .
Ohhh myyyy, that’s the best news! Amazing how this “Vertebroplasty“ has been created. Praising God for His wisdom given to treat this pain. Hoping you can reduce your pill intake! May the paperwork process be sped up! Cheerleading you on!
So happy to hear some encouraging news. Praying that the insurance will come thru quickly and that you can manage the pain in the meantime. Love you “kids”
So happy to hear there is something that can be done to reduce the pain. Hoping all goes quickly and smoothly. In the mean time, I hope that has given you some relief just knowing there is something that can be done and that they did not see any new visible fractures. Praying for all of you and for God’s peace and love to fill your hearts and your home.
Praying that this surgery will bring you much needed pain relief!!!
Thanks Nancy. This surgery was back in May and it did help. 🙂
